AMDSB denies leave to teacher, had planned to go to Holland with veteran father

An online petition has been started in response to a decision by the Avon Maitland District School Board.

Art Boon, who lives in Stratford, is a 90-year-old Second World War veteran.

He’s been invited to Holland next month to commemorate the 70^th anniversary of the country’s liberation.

The school board has denied his son, history teacher Rick Boon, unpaid leave to join his father on the trip.
