Local candidates have mixed reaction to federal budget

The federal budget is getting mixed reactions from the candidates in the upcoming federal election.

Perth-Wellington NDP candidate Ethan Rabidoux says this budget only has the illusion of balance:

Meanwhile Liberal candidate Stephen McCotter says the budget leaves most people behind:

However Conservative candidate John Nater says he’s pleased with it:

Rabidoux says one of the biggest tax cuts in the budget won’t help most people:

McCotter says the Conservatives are once again putting all their eggs in the oil basket:

Nater takes issue with the criticism that the budget relies too much on Canada’s oil industry:

The Harper Government was able to balance the budget partially by cutting contingency fund spending from $3 billion to $1 billion a year.

They’re also collecting billions in unnecessary Employment Insurance premiums and hoping oil prices go back up.
