The Perth County OPP has released the results from this year’s Canada Road Safety Week.
The nationwide campaign, which ran from May 12th to the 18th, saw police ramp up traffic enforcement. Locally the biggest issue was speeding, with 159 people charged with five more hit with racing.
Eight people were caught for distracted driving and six others weren’t wearing seat belts. There were also two impaired driving charges and two warn range suspensions.
The Perth County OPP says it was focused on the “Big Four” causes of death on our roads during that week.
