Area man’s remains found after four years

The remains of a missing Waterloo man have been found near a northern Ontario lake.  Daniel Trask disappeared four years ago.

The OPP says its Temiskaming detachment got a call about the remains early Monday evening.  They were found near Lady Evelyn Lake in Medina Township.

An examination has positively identified them as the remains of Trask.

According to a CBC report Trask’s car was found in November of 2011 in that area, followed by the discovery of his winter jacket and snowboarding pants in May of 2012.  The clothes were found roughly 46 kilometres from the car.  The following year his backpack was found about five kilometres from where his clothes were found.

Trask was 28-years-old at the time of his disappearance.
