Pork Month kicks off in Stratford

June is Pork Month.  The four week celebration of the pig kicked off at a launch party lunch this afternoon at Molly Bloom’s.

A number of events will be taking place to recognize pork’s importance to Perth County.  The biggest are the Ontario Pork Congress, the Stratford Blues and Ribfest, and the Hog Jog.

The Hog Jog runs on the 17th, coinciding with the kickoff of the OPC which runs until the 18th, at the Rotary Complex.  Organizers also announced the Blues and Ribfest, which is set for the 19th to the 21st, will be expanding this year, with the headlining acts playing at the Rotary Complex.

Local restaurants are getting into the act as well with things like the Bacon and Ale Trail and Hog Wild Week, which runs from June 15th to the 21st.
