Stratford Police join program aimed at cutting down impaired driving

The Stratford Police have joined the Last Drink Program.  Inspector Sam Theocharis says it’s a public safety initiative aimed at cutting down the amount of impaired driving.

The way it works is if an impaired driver names a licenced establishment as the last place they drank police will pass that information to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.

The AGCO then uses that information to identify licensees they can work with to better meet their standards.  The Last Drink Program is in use by all OPP detachments and 28 municipal and regional police services.
