Stratford author pens music venue’s history

Local author Dean Robinson continues to write the history of Stratford.

His new book is called 42 Wellington: The Music and the Memories 1929-1969. It examines the building’s history as a concert venue as well as the role in played in other facets of life in Stratford.

The book is full of stories compiled from research and interviews.  Robinson says the venue saw a lot of great talent over the years:

Robinson says there was one mystery he couldn’t crack:

The bar in question was 54 feet long in its prime, making it one of the longest in Ontario.

You can get a copy of 42 Wellington at the Stratford Perth Archives, Fanfare Books or The Wee Book & Photo Shop.
