Carbon monoxide detector deadline nearly here

The Stratford Fire Department has a reminder for landlords: time’s running out to install carbon monoxide detectors in your properties.

All properties that have six or more units and potential sources of CO need to have the detectors put in by October 15th. Not installing them could lead to fines up to $100,000.

The Stratford Fire Department will be responsible for enforcing the new rules.

Carbon monoxide is an invisible, tasteless, odourless gas that can kill you.  It’s created by incomplete burning of fuel in appliances.
