With the holiday shopping season kicking into full gear the Perth County OPP has some crime prevention tips for business owners.
They say you should be going over your procedures with your staff. Â They should be aware of their surroundings and be able to spot any suspicious behaviour in customers.
You should also be using video surveillance that’s adjusted properly to help identify a person if a crime happens.
The OPP says that varying the times you do your bank runs is a good idea as well. That makes it harder for any would-be thief to take advantage of any patterns.
The OPP also wants businesses that have on-site ATMs to make sure they’re secured. Recently an ATM was stolen from the Mount Forest Community Centre lobby.
Smash-and-grab ATM thefts are on the rise because of the variety of places they can be found and because they can be quite lucrative.
