Using the Cooper Site building in a redevelopment project would be cheaper than demolishing it.
That’s the report Stratford City Council heard at Monday night’s meeting.
VG Architects had been hired by the city to take a look at general options for developing the site, but not specific projects. A report in the Beacon Herald says costing for the various options came in between $17 and $28 million.
Each option did include tearing down the fire ravaged portion of the building. In June council agreed to not rip any part down until a request for proposals process that included adaptive reuse is finished.
