MPP says Milverton needs natural gas

Milverton needs natural gas.

That’s according to Perth-Wellington MPP Randy Pettapiece.

Pettapiece says he shares Perth East’s dissatisfaction with the Ontario Energy Board’s decision to delay extending the service to the village.

The delay could cost the village around $1.3 million in energy savings for every year it’s without natural gas. Pettapiece says it looks like the Ontario Government is once again leaving rural Ontario out in the cold.

He’s written a letter to the OEB and the provincial government voicing his disapproval.

Pettapiece says the project is a major priority for both him and the Township and that he’ll be meeting with Union Gas and Perth East officials to discuss the project’s next steps.
