Wilhelm, Allan

Wilhelm, Allan E., passed away peacefully on Sunday April 24, 2016 in the presence of family at his residence Nithview Community, New Hamburg.

He was born 97 years ago in North Easthope Township son of the late Edward and Christena (Lantz) Wilhelm.

A lifelong member of Zion United Church, New Hamburg, Allan had also farmed for a lifetime at RR#1 New Hamburg. He was a founding member of the North Easthope Antique Tractor Club and the North Easthope History Book Committee and had been pleased to be employed with Ontario Livestock Exchange and K-W St Clair Radio and Appliances. Allan was a friendly storyteller who cherished family connections,  made history come alive, all while keeping his faith in God central to how his life was lived.

Beloved husband of the late Hattie Hastings who predeceased him September 26, 1999. Dear father of Mary and Grant Koch of New Hamburg. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Andrew and Kristi Koch, and Suzanne Koch. Dearest “big papa” to Ezra, Caleb and Lydia. Also remembered by nephews Allan and Carol Lingelbach, and Donald and Lydia Lingelbach and their sons Scott and Brian, as well as cousins and friends.  Allan was predeceased by his only sister Ada and her husband Wilfred Lingelbach.

Friends and relatives are invited to visitation at Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. On Wednesday April 27th, 2016 transfer will be made to Zion United Church, New Hamburg for the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Tim Graham officiating.  Burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to Zion United Church or Nithview Community Auxiliary.
