McDougall, Clarence

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Clarence McDougall announce his passing on Friday, April 22, 2016 at the Stratford General Hospital, in his 87th year.

Beloved husband of Lula. Loving father of Ellen Van Moorsel and Ken, Paul McDougall and Barb, Robert McDougall and Karin, Diane Dietz, and Peggy Hébert. Proud Grandpa of 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Warren Mc Dougall and Marjorie. Dear brother-in-law of George Gray and Marjorie and Erma Williamson.

Predeceased by parents Ivan and Edith, sons-in-law Brian and Jim, and great-granddaughter Azlynn.

Clarence was primarily a farmer but was also involved in a number of farm organizations, Co-ops and the O.F.A. He served on the Board of the Mitchell Co-op for 26 years, the Mitchell Memorial Hospital Board for 23 years, was an active member of the Mitchell Lions Club for over 40 years, and was a member of the Police Services Board. Clarence was a lifelong member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Mitchell. He was an enthusiastic and avid supporter of soap box derby racing down the Mitchell hill, beside the Lions Pool. He had a lifelong passion for auto racing and would cheer on and support any car with a blue oval.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family to celebrate Clarence’s life at a Memorial Service at Knox Presbyterian Church, 92 St. Andrew St., Mitchell on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Robert Adams officiating. A reception and time to meet with the family will follow at the Lockhart Reception Centre. Memorial donations to Knox Presbyterian Church Sunday School or Heart and Stroke Foundation may be made through the Lockhart Funeral Home, 109 Montreal St., Mitchell or atwww.LockhartFuneralHome.com.
