Possible high levels of air pollution expected in Stratford and area

The air quality in Stratford may not be so great today. Environment Canada has issued a special statement for the southern parts of Perth and Huron counties.

The agency says the hot, sunny conditions are expected to cause an increase in ground-level ozone. The risk is expected to be moderate throughout the day with a chance of high risk this afternoon.

Poor air quality affects children, seniors and people with cardiovascular or lung disease the most. If you find yourself coughing a lot, getting short of breath, having headaches or throat irritation you should stop strenuous outdoor activities until the air quality statement is lifted.
