Environment Canada issues advisory ahead of hot, humid weekend

Environment Canada wants people to be cautious of the heat.

The agency has issued a special weather statement for both Perth and Huron counties. A warm and humid mass of air is settling into our area and will be sticking around into the weekend.

You can expect temperatures in the high 20s and low 30s. Environment Canada says although a heat warning isn’t expected this is the first very warm and humid weather of the season.

While heat can be dangerous for everyone seniors, young children and those with chronic illnesses are the most at risk. Make sure you drink plenty of cool liquids and spend a few hours a day in a cool space.
