OPP warns of suspicious people after 25 daylight break-ins

The West Region OPP is asking residents to report any and all suspicious people to police immediately. This comes after a spike in daylight break and enters in the area.

The West Region includes Perth, Huron, and Oxford counties. The OPP says they’ve investigated 25 daylight break-ins since the spring.

Each instance is similar in that the suspects will either get in through an unlocked opening or sometimes will force their way in if no one answers a knock at the door.

If someone does answer the suspect will use a ruse of some kind to distract from the criminal intent. The OPP says the suspects are a man and a woman between the ages of 35 and 65 with a heavy foreign accent.

If you know anything about these break-ins you’re asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
