ORPP cost Ontarians $70 million, Pettapiece says Liberal spending out of control

Randy Pettapiece is sounding off on how much money the Liberals sunk into the Ontario Retirement Pension Plan.

On Thursday the government announced that $70 million was spent on the now scrapped program.

The Perth-Wellington MPP says that’s a surprisingly high cost:

The $70 million includes $2 million in severance pay given out to six employees. Pettapiece says that amount of severance doesn’t seem appropriate:

The ORPP was started in 2013 and scrapped this year when the federal government announced an expansion of the Canada Pension Plan.
