OPP looking for driver who fled fatal crash

One man is dead and police are looking for a black car after a crash near Tavistock.

It happened Tuesday night on Perth Line 26 between Roads 109 and 110. The OPP says the small black car tried to pass a van causing an oncoming Pontiac to have to veer onto the shoulder to avoid a collision.

The man driving the Pontiac, 26-year-old Jason Ramtahal of Kitchener, lost control and ended up getting t-boned by the van. He died in hospital.

The OPP says the black car, possibly a Kia or a Honda, did not stop and was last seen headed towards Tavistock. They want to talk to the driver of that car.

If you know anything about this crash you’re asked to call the Perth County OPP at (519) 393-6123 or 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
