A Stratford woman has penned a book about her experience with polio.
Polio Child recounts things like Carol Rankmore’s six corrective surgeries and the times she spent months on end hospitalized. It also examines how she’s dealt with Post-Polio Syndrome.
Rankmore contracted the once common disease as a child. Polio has now been nearly eradicated thanks mostly to vaccination.
