Stone Town council being asked to look at other policing options

St. Marys Town Council is being asked to look at moving to policing options other than the OPP.

That’s according to a report in the St. Marys Journal Argus.

A “Notice of Motion” has been filed by Mayor Al Strathdee.

The notice mentions the possibility of making a deal with the Stratford Police.

The town’s contract with the OPP expires in 2018.

Strathdee told the Journal Argus it’s a part of looking at ways to save the town money.

The topic will be brought up at the council meeting on Sept. 13th.
