Betty Ebel, passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on September 6, 2016. Betty was the daughter of the late John and Esther Blom (née Hounsell); beloved wife of Ken “Pete” Ebel; loving mother of Mark (Michele) of London, and Neal (Joan) of Stratford. Treasured grandmother of Matthew, Natalie and Nicole Ebel and of Lisa and Rob Phillips and their children Carter and Chloe, and Ryan Mullin. Dear sister of Buddy Blom of Centennial, Colorado. As a life-long resident of Stratford, Betty was a proud member of the Kroehler Girls Senior Fastball Team in the 1950s. She taught swimming for many years at the Stratford YMCA. Betty was an active member of St. James Anglican Church and of the Daughters of the Nile, Omar Temple No. 111, Woodstock / St. Marys club. Cremation has taken place, and a private family memorial service will follow at a later date.
