There’s a ground fire at Ellice Swamp.
The Upper Thames Conservation Authority says it started sometime over the weekend. They’re working with the Perth East Fire Department to contain it.
The UTRCA says the fire has been hard to put out because it’s in the peat layer of the soil. The swamp is also very dry as the Upper Thames watershed is in a low water condition.
The UTRCA is asking people to stay away from Ellice Swamp until the fire is out.
