The Ellice Swamp fire is still under control, but not quite out yet.
The fire broke out last weekend. Steve Sauder with the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority says it’s an unusual situation:

Sauder adds they’ll be working at it throughout the weekend:

The fire has presented a challenge because it spread to the peat layer of soil that’s in the swamp. People are still being asked to stay away from Ellice Swamp until it’s extinguished.
