A study looking at the hospice needs of our area is underway. It’s being done by the Huron Perth Residential Hospice Subcommittee.
The study will be used to figure out not only what model of hospice we need, but also where 10 funded beds should be put. The recommendations will then be sent to the Southwest LHIN for consideration.
Approval to implement residential hospice beds is dependent on confirmed funding from the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.
The results from the hospice study are expected to be available next month.
