The United Way is stepping up to help the soon-to-be out of work employees of Kraft-Heinz.
The St. Marys food plant is closing its doors at the end of November, leaving 200 people without a job. The United Way is setting up a Job Action Centre in the Stone Town, with the support of Employment Ontario and Kraft-Heinz in response.
The Job Centre will be working out of the Pyramid Centre on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00am to 4:00pm at first. The United Way is working on leasing a storefront as a more permanent home.
