Jean Edna Thompson, age 85, passed away, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Stratford General Hospital. Born in Stratford, daughter of the late Jack and Janet (Haines) Hunter. Predeceased by her loving husband Kenneth George Thompson (Nov. 1990). Proud and loving mother of Paul Donald Thompson, Shirley Jean Thompson and Brian George Thompson. Adored grandmother of Brock Gregory Thompson and Zen Assing Thompson. Jean worked for many years with Bell Telephone as a supervisor; upon retiring she was involved with St. John’s United Church and St. John’s Ambulance.  Jean is survived by her sisters Ilene Graham, Shirley Parr and husband Silvio and brother-in-law Fred Scott along with many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Jean was predeceased by her sisters Florence McKay and husband Murray and Joyce Scott and brother-in-law Ray Graham. Friends and relatives may call at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Monday, November 21, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow in Avondale Cemetery.
