The world lost one of its sweetest, most gentle souls on December 3, 2016 with the passing of Clifford Edward Kreuter (age 88), at Spruce Lodge surrounded by his loving family. While outwardly quiet, Cliff maintained his quick wit and found great joy in making the people around him happy. His wife and best friend of 63 years Marilyn (Doerr) visited and cared for him daily.
Cliff was born March 22, 1928 in Rostock, son of the late Edward and Hazel Kreuter (Mayburry) and lived and raised his family there. In addition to his wife he is survived by son Steve (Marion), their children David (Brittany), Heidi (Tom), Steph, daughter Kathy Duchesne (Denis) and their children Ryan (Tali), Mark (Jen), Chad (Taryn) and daughter Sandy Murray (Pat) and their children Bria (Colin), Kelsey, Brett, Lauren, grandsons Shane Kelly (Katie), Michael Kelly (Abby), Patrick Kelly (Katie) and 11 great grandchildren. Sister Fern Pellar, sisters and brothers-in-law Elaine Wicke (George), Reta McKay (Alex). Predeceased by his in-laws John and Hilda Doerr, daughter Jane Kelly, granddaughter Hailey Murray and brother-in-law Bruce Pellar. Cliff was a Master Butter Maker at the Rostock Creamery along side his Dad and continued his craft at Stacey Bros. until his retirement. Cliff enjoyed a variety of passions including hunting, washing his car, mowing his lawn, visiting the corner garage, and cheering on his Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays. He will be missed by his god daughter Lynn McDougall (Scott) and longtime friends in Rostock and his many friends at McCarthy Place and Spruce Lodge. All are welcome to attend visitation on Tuesday December 6th, 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. and Wednesday December 7th from 10 am until the service at 11 am at W. G. Young Funeral Home Ltd, 430 Huron St, Stratford, Ontario. Donations may be made to the Zion United Church Rostock or Parkinson Foundation through the funeral home.
