Census shows Stratford behind national, provincial population growth rates

Stratford has fallen behind both the national and provincial growth rates. That’s the word from Statistics Canada which released population numbers from the 2016 census today.

Since 2011 the population of Stratford has grown by 1.8 per cent. The national growth rate came in at five per cent with Ontario’s growth rate hitting 4.6 per cent. The 2016 census puts Stratford’s population at 31,465, up 562 people from 2011.
