First responders lacing up to fight youth homelessness

Local first responders are lacing up to fight youth homelessness.

The Perth County OPP, the St. Marys Fire Department, and Perth County Paramedics are supporting “The Push for Change” with Victim Services of Bruce Grey Perth. Back in May former street youth turned successful entrepreneur Joe Roberts started the campaign by heading out on a 9,000 km trek across Canada pushing a shopping cart.

On Saturday between noon and 4:00pm there’s a going to be an “Educational Awareness Sleepout Challenge”. From 2:00pm to 3:00pm there’s going to be a free family skate which will be followed by the Guns and Hoses hockey game between the OPP and the fire department.

It’s all happening at the Pyramid Centre in St. Marys. Admission is by donation.
