Police start next phase of cybercrime prevention project

Stratford Police have begun the next phase of Project SMART. SMART stands for Social Media Awareness & Responsibility Training.

The project, which relies on community collaboration, is aimed at preventing and increasing awareness of computer-based crime. It focuses on the most at-risk groups, namely school age youth and the elderly.

The second phase of Project SMART includes a partnership with the Lakeside Seniors Association and Central Secondary School to have students teach seniors about safe usage of computer devices such as iPads. The program, which is full, runs for four weeks.
