Pettapiece praises groups that made hospice a reality

Randy Pettapiece calls 10 palliative care beds coming to the area “fantastic news”.

The Perth-Wellington MPP says it recognizes the importance of end-of-life care in our area for people of all ages. He’s also thanking the South West LHIN, which announced approval of the beds earlier this week, for recognizing this was an area of need.

Six beds are going in Stratford and the other four near Clinton.

Pettapiece also praised the work of the Stratford Perth Residential Hospice Committee and the support from the Rotary Club of Stratford and the City of Stratford in getting this done.

The MPP spoke publicly in favour of the project during the 2014 election, wrote to the health minister in 2016 to confirm that the project was on the government’s funding list, and then pressed the case both on the legislature floor and with the minister in person.
