Large public consultation on Cooper Site to begin soon

The city is set to begin community consultations on the Cooper Block. That’s the name of a proposed community hub at the Cooper Site.

Stratford’s CAO Rob Horne gave a presentation to council at last night’s meeting. Although the presentation was light on details about what exactly the Cooper Block will look like Horne said more will be revealed soon and the goal is to get things moving. He said there are a number of ways the site could be developed.

Horne said the public consultation will take place over the summer and will include things like “kitchen table” information kits for residents. The project is expected to cost $30 million with the city looking to split it three ways with the federal and provincial governments.
