The Stratford Perth Community Foundation says 2016 was a good year.
The foundation handed out just over $120,500 in grants last year bringing the total amount of grants to $606,000 since its inception in 2004. Endowed assets reached nearly $3.5 million in 2016 with new gifts reaching an all-time high of more than $724,000. It says it also started seven new endowed and nine new named funds under the Smart & Caring Community umbrella in 2016.
The foundation revealed the numbers Wednesday night at its Annual General Meeting at the Stratford Country Club. Tracy Van Kalsbeek, the foundation’s Executive Director, says they’ve built on the positive momentum they’ve had from past years.
