Judith Anne Purcell

It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of our beloved wife, mum, mother-in-law and gramma. Judy passed away on May 27, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Hospice, London in the presence of her loving family. Judy is survived by her husband of 52 years Francis (Fran). Loving mother of Suzanne Sidwell (Paul) and Heather Blowes (Rob). Adored gramma of Vanessa and Graham Sidwell, Alexa and Ava Blowes. Loved sister of Joan Moorehead (Roger), Jim Stewart (Kim). Also survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Anne Marie Munden, Rita Voigt, Leone McNeelands (Sam), Dennis Purcell, Tom Purcell, Mary Jo Brownell (Norm) and many nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by a grandson Reid Joseph Sidwell (1996), her parents Albert and Beverly (Betty) Stewart, father-in-law and mother-in-law David (Robb) and Mary Purcell, a niece Jill Moorehead and a sister-in-law Nancy Purcell. Judy worked for the City of Stratford for 31 years. She was Secretary of the Stratford Police Commission for many years, was a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Church, was a 40 year member of the Catholic Women’s League and a 35 year member of the Canadian Blood Services. Visitation at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Wednesday, May 31, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The CWL will hold a service at 1:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 50 Well Street, Stratford on Thursday, June 1, at 11 a.m. Father Dick Bester – celebrant. Interment will take place at Avondale Cemetery following the reception in the Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Reid Joseph Sidwell Fund at SickKids Hospital Foundation Toronto, Project Precious (Haiti) c/o St. Joseph’s Church or to Immaculate Conception Church and may be made through the funeral home. 519.271.7411 www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com
