Show up early.
That’s a nickel’s worth of free advice from organizers of the annual Tri-County Master Gardeners Native Plant sale on Saturday at Avondale United Church.
Don Farwell with the group said they have a truckload of plants scheduled to arrive at the event, from 9 a.m. until noon, and they often sell quickly.
Farwell said you can sort through shrubs, small trees, flowering perennials and ferns.
“Good plants to support pollinators and birds in everyone’s backyards.”
Perennials are $6 and you will need to bring along a basket or tote to bring them home.
Formerly Stratford Master Gardeners, the group has grown and branched out into neighbouring areas, and are happy to help local green thumbs learn more.
Another sale will likely be held in the fall.
