Stratford Police investigating garbage tag fraud scam

If your garbage tag looks suspicious, report it to police right away.

Stratford Police are currently investigating a scam where fake garbage tags are being sold to residents in Stratford.

They say if you think you bought a fake tag, don’t use it.

Police have also put up a list of places for you to buy legitimate garbage tags.

This includes City Hall, 7-11, Blowes Stationary, Canadian Tire Gas Bar, Daisy Mart, East End Variety, Esso, Giant Tiger, Hallmark/Blowes, Joe’s Variety, Mobil, Mornington Variety, North End Pharmacy, Shell Station, Sobeys, Stratford MiniMart/GoCo, Stratford Variety, Video 99 & Convenience, and Zehrs.

Along with not using fake tags, officers urge you to call them at 519-271-2417 extension 8191.
