OPP Festive RIDE numbers

The Wellington County OPP extended its Festive RIDE campaign to January 11^th.

The final tally ended with 38 motorists being charged with drinking and driving offences over an eight week period.

The final results of the 8 week campaign are;

–       12 459 Vehicles checked

–       815 Approved Screening Device tests (drivers who consumed alcohol but breath samples were less than 50 mgs)

–       38 Over 80mgs/Impaired/Refuse Charges

–       87 Three-Day Administrative Driver’s License Suspensions

–       8 Seven-Day Administrative Driver’s License Suspensions

–       11 Twenty-Four Hour Administrative Driver’s License Suspensions

–       20 Other Criminal Code

–       44 Drug Charges

–       29 Liquor License Act Charges

–       177 Highway Traffic Charges

–       30  Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act charges

While the Festive RIDE program is over, police will continue to monitor roads and highways for impaired driving.
