OPP investigates break and enter in Oxford

The Oxford County OPP is investigating a daytime break-in and theft last Friday.

It occurred on the 31st Line between Road 96 and Perth Oxford Road in Zorra Township sometime between 7:45am Friday morning and 5:30 in the afternoon on February 14th.

Someone kicked in the side door to get in.

The thieves ransacked the home and stole electronics, a collection of silverware and jewellery.

The approximate value of the items taken exceeds $30,000.

At approximately 9:30am Friday morning, a suspicious vehicle was seen at a neighbouring residence.

The vehicle was described as:

  • Silver Dodge quad cab, 4×4 pickup truck
  • Windows having very dark tint
  • License plate appeared to be purposely obstructed

There were two males in the vehicle.

The driver is described as:

  • Black hair, clean cut
  • Thick black eye brows
  • Olive coloured skin
  • Approximate age of late 20’s or early 30’s

The OPP is asking residents to be vigilant for suspicious vehicles travelling up and down roads or sitting in neighbour’s driveway when they are not home.

The public should try to get descriptions, licence plate numbers and direction of travel and report this immediately to their local police service.
