The Rostock Town Hall has been saved, for now.
Perth East council voted Tuesday night in favour of giving a group of residents a year to come up with a plan for the building.
Otherwise the property could be sold.
Reports say a large contingent of people in favour of keeping the town hall attended the meeting.
The initiative is being spearheaded by the Ellice Optimist Club.
