A Stratford man has been killed by a train.
The Perth County OPP says officers were called to the Goderich Exeter Railway Company line west of Shakespeare just before 9:30 p.m. Wednesday night.
An investigation showed a VIA train hit a pedestrian who was on the tracks about half a kilometre west of the village.  The man’s body was found and 27-year-old Robert William McArdle was pronounced dead at the scene.
The VIA train moved on at about 12:30 a.m. Â No foul play is suspected.
