Stratford News Pettapiece spurs the Liberals over horse racing SHARE ON: Ethan Rabidoux, staff Friday, Mar. 7th, 2014 Randy Pettapiece says the Liberal government has jeopardized the upcoming horse racing season. The Perth-Wellington MPP went on the attack earlier this week in the Ontario Legislature. He says the Wynne Government failed to approve race date application for many tracks. Contracts stipulating the terms of the racing season, including the number of race dates at each track, are supposed to be signed by April 1st. Pettapiece called on the Premier to communicate with tracks and finalize race dates as soon as possible. In response, the Premier, claimed that “negotiations are ongoing” but Pettapiece says that’s not what he’s been told from people within the industry.
