Rainfall warning issued by Environment Canada

Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for our area, with several disturbances expected to move through southern Ontario over the next few days bringing significant rainfall. Stratford and the surrounding area could receive 5 mm of rain today, 15 mm tonight, and another 5 to 10 mm tomorrow. Meanwhile, a swath from the Bruce Peninsula across Georgian Bay to Parry Sound and Huntsville could see amounts of 40 to 60 mm by tomorrow morning. Environment Canada says localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible and you should avoid driving through water on roads as even shallow fast moving water across a road can sweep a vehicle or a person away. You are also advised to keep children and pets away from creeks and river banks.
