Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne will be in Stratford today to take part in a demo and a Connected Vehicle Technology Tour.
The city has taken an active role in autonomous vehicle development, fitting into the automotive sector’s presence in southwestern Ontario with Toyota, G-M and Chrysler plans in the region.
Last month Renesas Electronics held its grand opening as a test site for research into autonomous vehicles.
Wynne along with Ontario’s Minister of Economic Development and Growth Brad Duguid and Minister of Research, Innovation and Science Reza Moridi will be in Market Square this afternoon.
The premier is expected to make a funding announcement for the continued development of the technology.
