Stratford News Huron County Council Moves to Ban Smoking on County Property SHARE ON: Gregory Rosser, contributor, Tuesday, Nov. 14th, 2017 Photo: Supplied Huron County’s council has voted in favour of banning smoking on any county owned property. The recommendation came from the local health unit, working within the confines of the Smoke-Free Ontario Act. Exceptions will be in place for any residents in long-term care homes or social housing under pre-existing rules. The new restrictions don’t affect e-cigarettes as council didn’t have enough information on their use to include it in the new bylaw. The recommendation is expected to get final approval in next month’s council meeting.
