Stratford City Council is exploring the idea of renovating the Agriplex to see if it could accommodate any of the groups who may be displaced by the proposed redevelopment of the Tom Patterson Theatre.
CAO Rob Horne says the tender is going to see what it might cost and what it might look like to house some of those groups, such as the Kiwanis or the Stratford Lakeside Active Adults Association.
He says it’s not a commitment but rather to make sure the municipality has all of its bases covered should the theatre redevelopment get the green light.
In the event that the facility is tapped for renovation the city would still be able to pursue the tender offers.
