Verna Harriotte Willows (nee Simpson) of Stratford, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at the age of 91. Born in Stratford on March 22, 1926, daughter of the late Robert Simpson and the former E. Louise Monteith. Beloved wife of the late Floyd Willows (1993). Loved mother of Lynn Fraser (George Wood), Elaine Standeaven (Glen) and Gail Willows. Dear sister of Eileen Hosick and Lois Kipfer and sister-in-law of Marie Simpson, Donna Willows, Patricia Willows (Meade Stull) and Charleen Barfield (Howard).
Also survived by her grandchildren; Jacquelyn Fraser (Derek Roberts), Steve Fraser (Jackie), Jennifer Edwards, Sarah Oliver (Chad), Heather Bergeron (Patrick), Joe Standeaven (Carrie), Dave Standeaven (Dana), Lisa Lankhof (Phil) and Christine Boynton (Allan) and 14 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her sister-in-law Earleen Willows, her brother Don Simpson, brothers-in-law Wallace Hosick, Fred Kipfer, Gerald ‘Bud’ Willows and Ron Willows.
Family and friends may gather at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St., Stratford on Sunday, November 26 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, November 27 at 11 a.m. followed by a reception. A private interment will be held in Carlingford Cemetery.
