Passed away peacefully at his residence, Nithview Community, New Hamburg on Saturday, December 2, 2017. Reuben was born 98 years ago, a son of the late Abraham Steinmann and former Mary Roth. He will be dearly missed by his siblings; Arthur Steinmann, Ervin and Erma Steinmann, David and Ruth Steinmann, Irene Bender, Dorothy and Willard Schwartzentruber, sister-in-law Leona Steinmann and will be missed by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Walter Steinman, sister Mabel Steinmann and Reuben Kennel, Ruth and Ross Bender, sister-in-law Florence Steinmann and brother-in-law Ervin Bender.
Reuben was a member of Steinmann Mennonite Church and spent his many years travelling with friends. He had a great passion for nature and enjoyed cross country skiing and spending time sailing on his sail boat. Reuben enjoyed singing and was a part of various choirs including the Nithview Choir.
Visitation will be held at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg on Wednesday, December 6 from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Thursday December 7, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Steinmann Mennonite Church, Baden. Pastors Steve Drudge and Myrna Miller-Dyck to officiate. Interment to follow in the Steinmann Mennonite Church Cemetery.
