Perth County Council has elected Mayor Walter McKenzie to serve as its new Warden.
McKenzie has more than 30 years of experience in public service, having previously served as warden in 1995.
McKenzie says there are many differences in serving heading into 2018 including the role advancing technology plays and responsibilities such as EMS now controlled at the county level.
He says it will be a busy year for the county with plans in place for road rehabilitation, a proposed new ambulance purchase, replacement of municipal 911 signs and how the new Economic Development and tourism division fits in.
Former wardens, municipal councillors, and Perth-Wellington MPP Randy Pettapiece were all present for the ceremony.
