The Perth County OPP has issued a public safety alert as it investigates the attempted abduction of a nine-year-old boy from St. Marys.
Authorities say the child wasn’t hurt and made it home safely.
Police say around 7:30 Saturday evening a nine-year-old boy was reportedly walking near the area of Church and Station streets when he was approached by a man in a SUV.
The OPP says the man offered the child a ride, when the boy refused he got out of his vehicle and attempted to grab him.
The driver is described as white, with a deep voice and average build and was driving a SUV.
