The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care is looking for public feedback on the potential joining of the Perth and Huron County health units.
The ministry announced changes yesterday to the Health Protection and Promotion Act which could lay the ground work for a merger of the two regional healthcare organizations.
Medical Officer of Health Miriam Klassen says the regulation changes show provincial support for the health units coming together.
The Huron and Perth Amalgamation Steering Group and local boards of health will be working with the province to provide direction.
